DMX/Police Confrontation Sparks Riot at Concert

DMX’s scheduled Colorado Springs concert last night (October 16) turned into a riot after the Yonkers artist clashed with local police over his headlining set.

The show was supposed to be for American Charities, and X made it to the venue around 11pm. Upon his arrival, the multi-platinum artist was accosted by a security guard and told he could not perform.

DMX was furious, and inquired as to why he couldn’t fulfill his contractual obligations. The guard explained that he was allegedly supposed to be there by 9:30PM, and fans had already been told he wasn’t coming.

During the back and forth, the security guard threatened to have X arrested if he attempted to get on stage, a warning the rapper scoffed at.

“[Arrest me] for what?! You ain’t no police!” DMX argued. “I’ve been paid to perform.”

When X attempted to force his way on stage, several authorities tackled him to the ground. His entourage and fans joined the fracas, and DMX’s publicist Pam Pinnock reportedly suffered a minor concussion and face laceration after being trampled on the floor.

DMX eventually made it to the stage, but was not given the supporting sound system to appease his chanting fans.

While details are still being revealed, the American Charities’ strict refusal to let DMX perform is allegedly the result of the non-profit not having the remaining money needed to cover X’s performance. The rapper was paid an $8000 deposit, with a remaining amount of $7000 to be delivered upon the show’s completion.

Instead of informing DMX’s management, the show promoters allegedly opted to completely cancel the set rather then negotiate a new arrangement.

Last year, DMX had a similar situation at Indiana University, when police caused a brief riot by shutting down the rapper’s set for not taking the stage on time for a scheduled 8:30PM performance.

At press time, neither DMX nor a representative from American Charities could be reached for comment.

She’s playing this tough-guy role, and I told her, “If I ever leave out these doors, you better look out.” When I was leaving, after I said, “F*** Charm School,” she was the first person I saw, and I slapped the f*** out of her, and I threw a drink on Marcia. I wanted to show them how it felt to be treated like a garbage can. I gave them a taste of their own medicine, but I don’t spit on people. That’s horrible. That’s nasty. There’s f***in’ swine flu going around here and you’re spitting on people. So, I tried to slap those piercings out of her face.

So what did she do in response?

She did not hit me back. She just went on barking at the mouth like she always does. If you didn’t know any better, you might think she’s actually tough, but I’m here to prove that she’s not. When Joe Budden announced that his new album, The Padded Room, would be pushed back to next year, he also announced that he would be releasing a prequel and a mixtape, while adding that he would be "having a conversation" with Royce Da 5'9" on wax.
"I will be releasing a prequel of sorts (prequel to The Padded Room) in late October featuring about 14 new records. I then will do my best to get this Big Mike tape out in December, and somewhere in between I’m gonna have a conversation with Royce, on wax, just to ask a few questions to the guy," Budden said via statement.

Royce heard that and didn't appreciate it. In a Loud interview with Royce, he replied to the statement.
"I don't have conversations on wax... I'ma say this and I'm not gonna keep saying it but I'ma say it cause that's the mood I'm in right now. Joe Budden is someone who I respect tremendously. Like, lyrically . I got a lot of respect for Joe Budden. I think he's real ill. I reached out to Joe Budden to do a song. He turned around and dissed me out of nowhere."

He also added that he has no interest in beefing.
"I don't want to have a problem with Joe Budden," he said. "The only way [we] are gonna have a problem, is if he brings a problem. If he asks for a problem, then I'll give him the most serious one he's ever had. But, that's not what I want to do."

Royce reaches out, saying that there is no reason whatever they have brewing could not be handled outside of rap.
"Listen, man. If you want to ask me some questions...He ain't got my number, but he can find me. He do have my e-mail."


While keeping it peaceful, he did say he wouldn't tolerate disrespect.
"I'm not gon' let him disrespect me. I never let that happen before. Why would I start now?"

Finally, he reaches out to him personally, through the video, with his own message.
"My thing to Joe Budden...If you got a question for me, ask me. Don't say it on a track for the whole world to hear. Cause, then you're gonna piss me off. I'm not in the business to piss you off so you shouldn't be in the business to piss me off. We should keep it like that. I'm being a gentleman about it, for the moment."

Even though Royce says he is keeping it off wax, he throws a shot at Budden on the new Bar Exam 2 mixtape.
"Listen to Joe Budden say I fell the fuck off, but he ain't ever fell on. I'm just gonna ignore him," he says on "I'm Nice."
